My
Story
Get to Know Me
My name is Shane Battle Tucker, and baseball has shaped who I am. I spent five years competing at the Division I level, winning two NEC Championships, earning a 1.9 ERA in my best season, and graduating with a degree in Health Sciences. Along the way, I trained in elite facilities, learned how to build velocity (throwing up to 94 mph), and balanced life as a student-athlete with a 3.8 GPA.
But more important than the stats, I discovered a deeper passion: not just for playing baseball, but for helping others grow through it. The lessons I learned, about resilience, accountability, confidence, and culture; now guide everything I teach.
I founded What’s Next Athletics to give athletes the kind of support I wish I had at a younger age: a program that develops the body, mind, and spirit. My goal isn’t just to build better baseball players. It’s to help young athletes build habits, values, and confidence that will serve them on the field and in life.
At the end of the day, I coach because athletes who end up asking "What's Next?" will always be at their best.
